Tornado !

Wow!  What a scary day yesterday.  We were hit with several tornadoes here in Raleigh and surrounding areas.  My house is fine but others are not.  There is a lot of damage everywhere.  I was playing in a pool tournament when this all happened.... was actually going to leave about 5 minutes before it hit but stopped and talked to some people... lucky too because I would have been directly in the path if I would have left.  So we sat in the dark pool hall for an hour... i made it home and my friends are all ok.  Heres a video of the storm going through Raleigh....

OMG! I have 5 followers!

Yes definitely something to write about!   I've been meaning to update my blog for the last few weeks.... you see how that went.   Anyways, lots of things going on.  Village Deli now has 6 of my photos hanging in their restaurant!  Very exciting!  I just got back from a week in Florida.... had a great time with my parents in Disney and Universal.  It was great to sit on the beach and talk with my brother after dealing with crowds for 3 days.  I got new shoes... old news now.  So much going on I can't remember it all!

Ok so I have to run now... not literally... but its pool time so have to go to pool now.  Hopefully I will pick up some more followers.  The more I have the more it will motivate me to actually update this thing!   So signing off now but stay tuned for more to come :-)   

Photography and what not

I really need to blog more.  I did get one more follower since my last post... woo-hoo!  Working my way up :-)   So I've pretty much quit being a Stampin Up demonstrator.  There is just too many other things I want to do... plus I'm a terrible demonstrator!  I'm going to focus on photography.  I really love to do it and definitely do not do it enough!  The Village Deli in Morrisville is my first victim... they are displaying my work!  This is assuming I get things framed quick enough to get it up.  I tried to do that this weekend.... however I couldn't bring myself to pay twice as much for enlargements getting them from some where other than shutterfly... so I ordered them from shutterfly.  Shutterfly does a great job and they are cheap.  So my framing is delayed a week.... but I have frames! 

In other news, the NCAA basketball tourney is underway and I cannot seem to get anything done today with basketball on my TV.  There have been some great games so far and some great upsets.  Of course, my bracket is all screwed up but oh well.  Now I just root for the underdogs.  :-)   

I'm trying to get hard wood floors (or fake hardwood) in the first floor of my house.  I have a friend that does floors for a living and is supposed to come by some time to tell me how much its going to hurt my bank account. 

I'm going to Florida to visit my parents and my brother Brandon in April.  I'm very much looking forward to a little vacation.  Going to spend a few days in DisneyWorld... which should be fun!  I haven't been in a few years and I hope there's some new things there! 

So what else?  I'm not sure what else ... more to come later I guess :-)

Followers and other randomness

I have 3 followers!  Thats great!  I really want a lot more followers.... I'm not sure how all these people have 30, 40, or more followers.  I need more friends I guess.

Anyways, this morning I went out to go get milk.  I figured since I was out, I'd run by AC Moore before I went to the grocery store and see if I could find a clear block for a stamp I got.  Of course I went to Starbucks because its close to AC.  On my way back towards my house and the grocery store, i remembered that borders was going out of business.  Their books are only 20% off - no big deal there - but their magazines are 40% off.  So I get home and have spent $23 on magazines and $5 on coffee..... no block for my stamp and no milk.  Story of my life.

I guess I'll go by the grocery store later.  I'm going to go to the flea market today... not for anything in particular - just going to walk around and enjoy the 75 degree weather we are having!  Maybe I'll actually take my camera and take some shots of something.... I really miss taking photos and I haven't taken nearly enough. 

Well I'm going to browse through my stack of new magazines and then go enjoy the weather....   maybe I'll get some new followers by my next post....  :-)

Day off work, stupid cold, car issues, and other random-ness

I've been fighting off a cold thats been trying to invade my body for a week now. My friend Michael came to visit me this weekend and I let my guard down.  The cold overran me.  I woke up this morning and couldn't even breath.   I tried to go to work but was sneezing on everyone so I just came back home.  I was actually going to try to be productive today but it really didn't happen.  I slept a lot.

I did take my car to get fixed.... it needed a new wheel bearing.  Yay me.  $400 later..... my car doesn't sound like a small airplane now. 

I watched Footloose today.  I love that movie.  They are re-making that movie.  It comes out in October I believe.  I hope its good.  The remake of Fame was terrible....

It's starting to warm up here in the Carolinas.... although it does that - gets warm and then goes back to cold.  I don't like that... just get warm already!   Anyways, time for bed and i guess I'll go to work tomorrow.  :-)

has it really been 29 days since my last post???

wow.... so I'm really bad at this blogging thing.  You'd think as much as I'm on facebook that I could keep up with this.  anyways, this weekend has been full of pool!  My thursday night pool team qualified for the Cities tournament.  So starting Friday we played all night, all day Saturday, and all day and night Sunday.  We lost in Semi-finals!!  So close to winning Vegas...  i almost cried.  We played so well and its so hard losing being that close.  But we'll be back.  :-)  

So I'm old.  Tomorrow is my Birthday.... I'll be 33!  Crazy!  Anyways, we'll talk more about that tomorrow....

giving up coffee for 21 days....

So my church is doing a fasting thing where you give up something for 21 days.  I'm giving up coffee for 21 days!  I usually can't go a day without coffee so this will be very challenging!  I'll keep you updated on my withdrawal status.  :-)

January 1, 2011!

Wow, I haven't blogged since Dec 9th??  Not surprising actually.  Well, 2011 is going to be very busy!   Lots of great things in store.  For starters, I'm a Maid of Honor - all year long!  My best friend JJ is engaged and getting married on May 26, 2012.  I'm so happy for her and can't wait!  Our family reunion is in June.  I can't wait to see everyone.  I have a bunch of other things going on but you'll hear about them as they come up. :-)  

Anyways, I hope everyone had a great Christmas and is looking forward to a great 2011!  Please follow me on my blog :-)

So many things going on!!  i'm a little disappointed to hear that my mom is not coming to visit me this month.... she is staying in Colorado until after the holidays.  :-(   My holidays are now free and I have nothing to do.  However, I guess that means I don't have to buy xmas presents because I'm not seeing anyone! 

My Christmas cards are done....but I need to write my letter, update my address book, and get them sent out!  Hopefully they will be delivered by Christmas.  :-)  

Family reunion invites.... well, they are in the works.  I'll send them soon.... 

I'm house-sitting right now - until Saturday.  And its the coldest week of the year probably!  Last night I let their cat outside and I couldn't find him when I wanted to go to sleep.... started to think he froze.  But then he showed up.  :-)    This morning, he acted like he wanted to go out...  I opened the door, he walked out, turned around, and came right back in.  Smart.  

My company Holiday party is tomorrow... of which I do not have a date for!  How is that possible?  Anyways, its going to be fun regardless.  :-)    I'm playing in a pool tournament on Sunday for Toys for Tots.... I think I'm going more for the marines that are going to be there.  Too bad the tournament wasn't before my Holiday party.
