has it really been 29 days since my last post???

wow.... so I'm really bad at this blogging thing.  You'd think as much as I'm on facebook that I could keep up with this.  anyways, this weekend has been full of pool!  My thursday night pool team qualified for the Cities tournament.  So starting Friday we played all night, all day Saturday, and all day and night Sunday.  We lost in Semi-finals!!  So close to winning Vegas...  i almost cried.  We played so well and its so hard losing being that close.  But we'll be back.  :-)

So I'm old.  Tomorrow is my Birthday.... I'll be 33!  Crazy!  Anyways, we'll talk more about that tomorrow....

giving up coffee for 21 days....

So my church is doing a fasting thing where you give up something for 21 days.  I'm giving up coffee for 21 days!  I usually can't go a day without coffee so this will be very challenging!  I'll keep you updated on my withdrawal status.  :-)

January 1, 2011!

Wow, I haven't blogged since Dec 9th??  Not surprising actually.  Well, 2011 is going to be very busy!   Lots of great things in store.  For starters, I'm a Maid of Honor - all year long!  My best friend JJ is engaged and getting married on May 26, 2012.  I'm so happy for her and can't wait!  Our family reunion is in June.  I can't wait to see everyone.  I have a bunch of other things going on but you'll hear about them as they come up. :-)

Anyways, I hope everyone had a great Christmas and is looking forward to a great 2011!  Please follow me on my blog :-)

December 9, 2010

So many things going on!!  i'm a little disappointed to hear that my mom is not coming to visit me this month.... she is staying in Colorado until after the holidays.  :-(   My holidays are now free and I have nothing to do.  However, I guess that means I don't have to buy xmas presents because I'm not seeing anyone!

My Christmas cards are done....but I need to write my letter, update my address book, and get them sent out!  Hopefully they will be delivered by Christmas.  :-)

Family reunion invites.... well, they are in the works.  I'll send them soon....

I'm house-sitting right now - until Saturday.  And its the coldest week of the year probably!  Last night I let their cat outside and I couldn't find him when I wanted to go to sleep.... started to think he froze.  But then he showed up.  :-)    This morning, he acted like he wanted to go out...  I opened the door, he walked out, turned around, and came right back in.  Smart.

My company Holiday party is tomorrow... of which I do not have a date for!  How is that possible?  Anyways, its going to be fun regardless.  :-)    I'm playing in a pool tournament on Sunday for Toys for Tots.... I think I'm going more for the marines that are going to be there.  Too bad the tournament wasn't before my Holiday party.

Parable Project Tournament Postcards!

I'm so excited!  I hope that I can get people to come and support me in my tournament! One of the guys I go to church with made the postcards and posters for advertising.  Heres the postcard:

The posters are basically the same.  A few places in town are advertising for me. Its great!

December Already?!?!

Where did the year go?  Luckily my friends talked me into making Christmas cards with them a few weekends ago so that is done.  I just need to write my letter now and get them mailed.  I'm still working on the family reunion which should have been sent out already.... whoops.  It'll be sent this month some time :-)

Thanksgiving was a last minute trip to Colorado to visit with family and friends.  It was a little cold and it snowed one day but it was fun.  I visited with friends and family I haven't seen in a while.  It was nice to catch up and I hope to see them all at our family reunion in June.

I can't believe its December already!  I almost forgot that I have to house sit next week!  Crazy.  My life seems so busy but then its not...how is that possible?  Anyways, looking forward to my mom visiting me here and showing her around the North Carolina.  :-)

Parable Project Update !

I am so excited to host this tournament!  So far I have a place to hold my tournament (Snookers), Hungry Howies is donating pizzas for the event, and APA is donating a cue that I can use in a raffle.  I'm working on a few other things - giveaways and what not - but now I just need to advertise!  My goal is 16 teams... I hope for more, but if I get at least 16, I'll be happy.  I'm still trying to figure out the payout.  I want to give as much to the project as I can but still have a good payout for the winners.  Its a struggle... but I'll get through it  :-)

The Parable Project Scotch Doubles Tournament

My church - yes I said "my".  I've been more than 3 times, I feel I can say my church.  Anyways, my church has a fund raising project called the Parable Project.  They passed out $150 to each person and we are supposed to invest the funds according to our unique talents. On January 30, 2011 funds will be collected and the proceeds will be used to support community organizations, projects and events that make a tangible difference in our community.

My current talent seems to be pool... you know, the table with 15 balls that you hit around and try to get them all in the pockets.  Pool.  Anyways, I decided to have a pool tournament.  I have named it accordingly - The Parable Project Scotch Doubles Pool Tournament.  Scotch doubles being the type of tournament...basically you have to have a partner to play and you take turns shooting the balls in the pockets.

My tournament is set for January 8th.  I am hoping that I can get other companies to donate prizes, food, whatever and that I do not have to spend any of the $150 my church gave me and it can go right back to the church.  I have emailed and sent letters to numerous places asking for such things.  I am anxiously awaiting their replies!

Photography Scavenger Hunt

I'm on meetup.com.  If you have never been on meetup.com, it is pretty cool... and even better if you attend the meetups.  One of the groups I am a part of is a photography group.  From Nov 1 until Dec 12, this group is having a scavenger hunt.  We were given a list of things, 150 total, to find and take photos of.  The last time we did this, I did not take one photo!  Terrible.   So I'm committed this time to take as many as I can by Dec 12.  I will post them as I go along.  Hopefully, I can spread it out over the next month but I am very much a procrasinator and will more than likely take a lot of pics in December and all at once.  :-)   Anyways, heres the list:
